Kickstarters have become huge in the author world recently. Everyone is looking to do a Kickstarter and the special editions that are being created are absolutely beautiful with everything from sprayed edges, foiled covers, bookmarks, character art, jewelry, and more - it can be overwhelming to set up a Kickstarter while sourcing products and continuing to write.
The process of running a Kickstarter from start to finish can be daunting. There are a lot of moving parts and things to remember/track. If you haven't run one before it can be difficult to know where to begin or who to turn to for help.

We've had the opportunity to assist on a number of amazing Kickstarter projects and helped with almost every part of the process - there were a few things that only the authors could handle, like sign and personalize the books. We wanted to create something that would help keep ourselves and those we work with on track throughout the process. Thus, the first edition of our Kickstarter Checklist was created!
We tweaked the form as we worked on more projects and have found this version of our list to be quite comprehensive! Will it change again? Of course - because best practices will change and evolve and so will our methods!
The checklist takes you from the beginning steps of coming up with your product description, to creating graphics of your products, all the way through fulfillment. We also added in some important tips that we've gleaned along the way to help make your process as seamless as possible.
The checklist was made with both authors and PAs in mind who might work hand-in-hand on a Kickstarter. It can be used as a project management tool, as a personal calendar, or a simple to-do list.
We believe in the work that authors and PAs are doing so much and appreciate you! We hope that as a little "Welcome to Luna Blooms" that you'll enjoy this Kickstarter Checklist and find it helpful in your work.
